I'd do anything to share the dream you dreamed.

The rosettes, the roses, the grand view of the rose bush
was something she'd never see again.

But then, there I was, her eyes for the beauties she loved

I remember she said she'd love to see Hawaii
But then, she never made it there,
Not to see the seaside, or to wade in its waters
or to walk along the shore
or hold the hand of her lover
not again

But then, there I was
I, who knew her dream
and said to her in passing
I will tell you how the seaside looked
Or what joy it was to walk barefoot on its sands
and dip my feet in its water, or wade deeper where the corals danced below
on seabeds roused by the waves.

Oh, I'd make your dream mine
So you know that I'd do anything
to share the dream you told me you dreamed.
