A 100-word of anything that comes to mind

I sit under a tree and think before the words appear on the page like a script where the birds remain quiet as they know I need to think about just about anything that comes to mind, don't ask me how they know what I need to do to reach the word count not many are in favour of, for how do you write about what ails the world or awes the world, and how do you tell a full story in 100 words when you have to keep it short and sweet to have it with some spiced tea.

(This is a continuous story in 100 words I just came up with. On some days, the muse goes missing!)

The Chef And I

What might that be that he carries in that tray
With a smile as wide as the welcoming aroma
That strays towards my senses, the smell is divine
Oh, my greed cannot be
thrust away and berated.

Oh, I wish, I wish that he'd serve me
Not on a platter that matters
Either in steel pots or crystal
I care not for the palette
As long as I taste
His dish in my mouth
that waters

I follow the trail of the platter
and a chef's smiling rendered
'Meat cooked with red wine.'
upon which my hunger
did awaken
a million taste bud sensations
I wait
to satisfy
my pangs

I creep up on the good man
whose eyes glowed at my injunction
"Now, what have we here?"
He asks.

"A tiny-bodied human, I wait to be fed," I reply

I cannot but thank his kindness
As he filled a plate
with his goodness
And a hearty meal
I made it for my content.

Oh, I sang my way home that day
Not in a million years have I tasted
such relish
like Meat dipped in fine wine
And in that instant, I learned
What it means to be a fine diner.

Haha, I hope you enjoyed this poem. Oh, for the love of great food!
Have a great week ahead.

Today I want to Imagine

Today, I want to imagine that I was a child again

That the Earth was just as it was

on the day of inception.

That no pollution covered the skies

to spill across the oceans

or

cover the lush lands

and taint

the haven that once was ours.

Today, I want to imagine

that the heat from the wars that permeates our skies

is an illusion

That no matter where I look

the verdant of the lands

were not lost to droughts, or floods, or the ravages of wars.

Today, I want to imagine

Those powerful men who rule the world

Was discussing peace

instead of the latest weapons of destruction.

Today, Earth told me a secret

that her land and seas

Was no longer ours

The men had decided their fate

long before.

God allowed them to.

For the world of ugliness pleased

their senses more

and with not a care for the Earth

They called Home

Did they seek to keep it safe

From iniquities.

Today, on Earth Day, I will imagine

that God's Garden of Eden

It was what I had imagined as a child.

Under the April Rain-Soaked Sky

When in April the showers did spring
a blight of raindrops
they fall
in a garden
masked
by mists and dew
of the froid.

That morning
in the early hours
It rained.

The flowers, they dance
Though they stoop
the weight of the raindrops
are heavy
The grass below
is hidden
Under an April rain-soaked sky.

-shobana-

It's raining now after a blight of hot days,
What a relief from the heat.
Nature would be smiling.

The Flowers that captured my sight one day

Oh, what a gorgeous ensemble of flowers
I knew them to be wild
reckless and carefree

Were they the ones that brought forth colours
on a blank canvas
So we reimagine
them
in the wilderness
gone astray?

their brief breath
their last
Why do they wither away?

I summoned them back one day
when the winds howled
a distant foray

Neither the colours nor the season did I foresee
For when the flowers fade away
the way
 they did
in the wilderness
They lost their way.

Gaya Bay's Guests of Honour

Gaya Bay, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

The choppy waters of Gaya Bay

bustled with boats of different shapes and sizes,

Their engines broke the silence of a new morning

while the rough oars partook

In a race to the island,

where the corals and tiny critters

lived

on a rocky bed of seafloor.

The nudibranch lay camouflaged between those corals and sponges

They inhabited a colony on the seabed

They were remarkably endowed with beauty.

Speed boats raced with passengers on board

Turning the calm blue sea into choppy waters.

Even so, the waters looked untroubled.

The sun is hidden from view

The sea and its wayfarers

The guests of honour.

Where a solitary seagull flew

amid a soft wind blowing.
