The Rock Beneath the Capricious

It wasn't always like that,

There were days when the waters covered those pebbles,

There were days when the pebbles lay translucent underwater.

It never rocked the boat,

those gorgeous glistening pebbles.

Instead,

they provided the anchor for its unsteadiness,

They became the rock beneath the capricious
