Where do your eyes trail
if not to the path that leads to beauty
Where poets often tread
to escape the monotony
of vexation.
A poet's mind is filled with upheavals,
questions and disgruntles,
And as she clamours for answers
she discovers the intimacies of beauty,
love, and wisdom.
The tributes to Sappho are many,
yet, in my heart, she seems a forlorn soul,
who writes her thoughts
as she wishes
so none can begrudge
her
the unspoken words.
Her words that spring forth from her mind
are sought by those ridden,
uprooted
by chaos and strife,
and the salience
of the long-forgotten epoch of
peaceful amity.
She, I believe to be of an immortal soul.
