What is beauty to you?

For my 11.5K friends from France who visited this blog yesterday. Thank you. I am repeating like a mantra that I would want to visit France in 2022 and I hope that the situation with the virus just disappears and we get back to normal - I cannot really remember what normal is any more. Can you?

We are a day away from the New Year. May love and peace reside in all hearts - shobana

Here's a poem I would like to share with you and all my friends throughout the world.

What is beauty to you? he once asked me. We stood among the flowers, on a hill where sunrises never set. The day remained gloriously endowed by all that charmed.

I stared ahead at the wonder of it all. Would a question like that require a tender heart, or would it be in passing that I should present my thoughts?

How do I begin to capture what I want to say in words?

Not all of the time does one know how to express tender words,

Not where beauty is concerned.

So I say to him,

When you see the world with tenderness,

No worth in words will take prominence,

Nor will you see flawed perfection,

As you believe you will see a vision,

of enchantment.

Love is like the rainbow, a feast of sublimation after a storm.

Only You ( A repost)

Only you will make it seem so easy,
translucent as crystals,
akin to the shimmers of diamonds in a sea
of creation.

Only you can take away this part of my dream,
So real in me,
Like ripples on water
I envision it,
only to have it disappear,
when it comes into contact
with
defeatism.

In retaliation,

I take this part of my dream,
make it so that it becomes real,
I shine it till its translucence scintillates,
and
create a tidal wave,
dissolving the ripple till it ceases visibility.

Tabby sat next to Lion, concealed by a rose bush, its red blooms almost hidden by the dusk-filled hour. The woman, averse to worldly presence, lifted her sensuous voice to the moon.

Wake the world tonight,

O moon of the brightest bright,

Wake a sleeping world to alight.

The dance of the winds,

Uplifted by a sensuous accent,

Becomes a soulful chanting,

Tonight.

The woman stands up, she twirls around, her robe disrupting the magnificent milieu surrounding her. Her beauty unmasks the moon and the dusk, and tiny stars appear to herald her bearing. She sings to the gentle prodding of the leaves. She sings to the gentle rushing of the waves of the lake. She entertains the mermaid who swims in shrouding mystery.

Her voice, as encapsulating as her beauty, streams through the night as stars fill the universe with tiny flashes of twinkles.

The Indulgence

“What does it mean to indulge in something?” he asked, while the obvious stared at him.

She thought for a moment before replying, “Love is an indulgence. To fall in love its tree-filled with passion, and strong emotions coined together with attraction.

Dancing is an indulgence, that exhilarating freedom of moving which releases the audacity of being confined.

And, so is singing, like the larks with not a care if the world is still asleep in the wee hours of the morning.

Sometimes, when the obvious stares at you, and you are ignorant of its beauty, that is an indulgence in which you choose not to ignore.

That’s indulgence! Have I said it all clearly?” She walks away into the mist, the dew drops on petals clinging to leaves, the hours as magical as any would conceive.

“So then, I shall love, dance and sing and lean not into the art of ignorance,” said he, so happy with the answer.

Dad

Dad, I wasn't afraid when you threw me up in the air,

It made me laugh, and I knew I was safe in your hands.

You were the strength that I had relied on.

You are the kind of Dad whose love shone through your eyes,

And, even when you were angry, I knew you were sad inside,

If God brought you back,

I want you to be my Dad, for always, forever, for eternity.

Happy Father's Day, Dad. I know you watch us in the silence of heaven.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. Have a wonderful celebration with your loved ones.

You deserve the praise, the accolades, and the love that is only yours to receive because of your special place in the hearts of your family.
