Draw me a Sun
Draw me a Sun, that big ball of fire, The rays light up the sky and the world below. A child says, "It's the biggest star in the universe." Though it's yellow and bright and pretty to look at There's fire in its belly It burns. "Doesn't it make a lovely picture from here, Mom?" The mom looks up, and it hurts her eyes. The ocean drifts, a lullaby The sands are warm She is barefoot, The child she shields from the glaring sun Under the umbrella They walk hand in hand. While the sun follows wherever they go. -shobana- On Shobana's Musings: The Powerful Sun is a God
