Oh My Soul

Image
Oh My Soul, glorifies the Lord. Were you there when I walked alone? When the tides rose to touch the sands  And lingered at my feet The sea was calm The day was not yet born. Were you there when I saw a vision? In the clouds When they did part And the brightest of light brought forth sheer delight That day, I was anointed by your sight. Were you there when in the darkest of days My soul cried out to you To silence the fears that disturbed my peace  That day, I sought love and redemption. Oh my soul When I awake I seek your face  as a child  Seeks her Father. My soul that awaits  From the highest of the highest Abound thy angels  For among them, my soul like a morning star Raises to heaven  in a brilliant light I entered the throes of heaven and found divinity. Have a Blessed Holy Week! Read The Power of Forgiveness on Shobana's Musings.

The Blues

Image
Like the translucent blue sea The coconut trees reflect The blues. The blues are meant to awe and the glaze-eyed beauty eyes them with a shimmer. I wondered how they needed the sun to show me the beauty of the seas that morning, As the tides washed up to the sun-warmed sands, The coconut trees provided shade So I could stand beneath the fronds  and listen to The rhythm of the seas. Splash! The tides were low The seabeds glistened a warm yellow shadowed By the sands beneath, a pebble or two, and a straying crab eager to swim ashore scrambles to build its crib. The blues of the seas captivated my mind not only in colour but by its vastness to outshine the world with its imaginative articulation. artistry in sheer reflection of the blue skies and seas -shobana-
